Eddie Wooten at Running Shorts has announced the winners of the 2009 Shorties—and MadMayosians are well represented (or stinkin’ up the joint, depending on how you voted). Be sure to check out the profile of the shy and retiring Barefoot Josh in the “Best Decision That Helped You Get Faster” category. Iris gives a nod to the heaping helping of chili she inhaled after Run to Victory in “Best Finish Line Food.” Josh contributes his two cents in a few other categories. MMRC gives the Badass of 2009 award to Darin Wells, the fireman who ran the Gobbler in full regalia, earning him the Shortie for “Best Costume.” We might try adding a little self-containing breathing apparatus to our gear—maybe it’ll help on the uphills!
