Monthly MMRC Farris Park Run/Walk

UPDATE: First Farris run/walk postponed to March 20 due to poor trail conditions. Spring is right around the corner, so it’s time to start marking our calendars for regular group runs/walks! All levels of runners, run/walkers, and walkers are invited. We start together, but everyone goes at their own pace for as much time/distance as they like. Making time for these outings is a great way to keep your fitness plan on track—and meet new workout buddies!

First on the season’s agenda: Farris Park loops every third Saturday of the month, beginning February 20 March 20. The Farris Park trail is a gravel and dirt one-mile loop with a few small hills. The loop is about a mile, which makes it easy to know how far you’ve gone. The McMichael High School cross country team regularly trains at Farris, so you know it’s a good workout.

Who: Runners, run/walkers, and walkers. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Farris Park is also a great place to run/walk with your kids!
What: Monthly group run/walk
Where: Farris Park (see map here); meet in the parking lot by the snack bar
When: Third Saturday of every month, starting February March 20
Time: We’ll start running at 10:00 a.m. Arrive a few minutes early for hellos and stretching. If you’re late, just start running or walking. Run or walk as long as you like, for as many loops as you like.

Other important info: This is a casual group meetup, which means you should bring your own beverages and snacks. There’s no charge to meet up with MMRC for group run/walks, and you don’t need to register—just show up. Participation is at your own risk.
