Weekend Wrap-Ups Before the Next Weekend

Some running clubs would post the results and recaps of their Saturday activities no later than, oh, maybe Sunday night? Not us MayMayosians! There Ain’t No Such Thing as a Free Cupcake

MMRC groups runs and events are free (despite the headline), but even so, we always wrangle a little added value into every outing. Who knows what participants might get post-run: fudge, coffee, primitive trophies? Yes to all of those! This January saw the first of many Cake Runs, wherein the added value is pretty obvious—and totally worth coming out for. Barefoot Josh knows his way around a pastry recipe, that’s for sure. January One and Done Got Done

MadMayo Running Club once again swarmed the streets of downtown Madison, this time to ring in the new year with the January One and Done 1-Mile Walk/Run. There was plenty of hale and hearty fellowship, walking, jogging, chatting, and even a little—well, let’s be honest—pooping. Fortunately there were plenty of doggie bags to go around. Our numbers even reached double digits! New walk/run buddies were made, and the MMJOD Championship Trophy was awarded in democratic fashion via our world-famous raffle. Refreshments at the Harris residence topped off this MMRC event with a touch of well-organized class. If the January One and Done is any indication, 2010 is going to be a banner year. MadMayo Shine Run, or Piedmont Means FootHILLS

MMRC Group Run #2 is in the books! Nine runners, with ages ranging from 14 to, well, more than 14, ran a challenging hilly and scenic route around Madison, beginning and ending at ShineFest. Unspoken rules were broken, lungs were lost and regained, and a good time was had by all. Also, one couple somehow rigged the raffle to win both prizes. Click here to read the full recap…
