It’s on! The 2nd Annual Phoenix 5K Race Against Cancer, sponsored by the McMichael High School History Club. Saturday, May 22, 10:00 a.m., Farris Park in Mayodan. The race follows the official 5K course of the McMichael HS cross country team: rolling hills, grass, gravel of all sorts, sun, shade, etc. You might even spot a heron or pileated woodpecker around the pond. At last, the route is unveiled! This route shows off some of our favorite places around Madison. We begin with a hill, tour the historic district where we stop to TP Royce and Dena’s houses (kidding!), traverse a surprising pastoral scene, and finish along the river. Please remember that this is a casual club run, not an organized 5K. Bring your own beverages and snacks, be prepared for traffic, and enjoy a fun run with new friends.
